Delaminering af glasfiber på grund af ethanolholdigt brændstof

Beskrivelse af problemet
Trafikstyrelsen gør DULFU opmærksom på at fly med brændstoftank af
glasfiber kan være udsat for delaminering pga ethanolholdig benzin.
Ethanolen i almindelig MOGAS indeholder mindst 5% ethanol og
almindeligvis 10%. Ikke alle glasfibertanke er designet til moderne
brændstoffer. Antageligt bliver resinen nedbrudt af ethanolen over tid
i visse glasfibertyper. Resinen bliver blød eller måske endda opløst
og dermed mister sin styrke. Især trykstyrken er stærkt nedsat. I
strukturelle dele som vinge og fuselage er det alvorligt.

Brændstoftanken kan være en strukturel del eller ligge op ad en
strukturel del, der kan blive påvirket. Flyet kan derfor være svækket
i alvorlig grad og må ikke flyve hvis det er tilfældet.

Til alle flykontrollanter
Ved syn af en Jabiru viste det sig at rorforbindelserne var tæt på at miste forbindelsen.
En af Dulfus opmærksomme flykontrollant Kurt Rønnest opdagede det ved et syn.​
Så skal i syne eller kender i til en Jabiru, så vær meget opmærksomme på dette.

CAA UK har udsendt en MPD på Ikarus C42 flyene #2016-006E dated 15th of July 2016.
Cracks have occurred starting from the centre hole in the forward hub on some Neuform propellers. Three aircraft have been affected with hours flown ranging from 400 to 1050. Read the MPD (Mandatory Permit Directive)

New Service Bulletin from Jabiru Aircraft Engine JSL014-3 (rev.3)  dateret 17.06.16 “Jabiru Cylinder Head Inspection”:  Jabiru Go-Nogo gauges and reams referenced, Double valve spring upgrade detailed. Incomplete review of all the information in this document  can cause errors. Read the entire Service Letter to make sure you have a complete understanding of the requirements.

​Owner’s Service Bulletin – OSB 29 Issue 1 dated 16th of June 2016.

Applicability – Ikarus C42 all models.
The problem appears primarily to affect high hours (1000hr+) early examples of the C42 on which the affected cut-outs were made manually. Later models are machine cut, and are thought less likely to exhibit the problem but they remain subject to this service bulletin until further notice.

Service Bulletin – SB 30 Issue 1 dated 5th of May 2016.
Applicability – Ikarus C42 fitted with Neuform Propeller
Inspection of propeller hub for cracking.
Nature of Defect: BMAA have been made aware of cracks starting from the centre hole in the hub on some
Neuform propellers.
As can be seen from the pictures 1 to 3 below, the cracking is quite extensive and the two

På nogle Savannah’er har man afmonteret slotsene. På en forespørgsel til fabrikken ICP via den danske forhandler, har vi fået det svar, at fabrikken ikke vil godkende at man afmonterer slotsene.

Det vil så sige at flyene ikke er luftdygtige, før slotsene er genmonteret.
Dette gælder ikke VG modellerne hvor der aldrig har været slots.

New Service Letter from Jabiru JSL015-1regarding the 2200 engine.

Background: In July 2014 Jabiru Aircraft released a notification to owners of certain 2200 engines regarding a potential issue affecting their ignition systems.
The issue can occur when the housing for the spring-loaded central carbon brush rubs against the rotor as it turns. Over time in service the friction in this area can “weld” the rotor to the cap and in some cases has led to a failure of the rotor and then of the ignition.

Jeg har fra en Eurostar, 3 propelblade med revner tæt ved navet. Bladene har
fløjet 600 timer.

Eurostaren havde ikke friktionskobling, og det kan måske være noget af årsagen.

AIC B 32/12: Om brug af autobenzin indeholdende ethanol og/eller methanol (Bio-benzin) i luftfartøjer.Adskillige luftfartøjer med stempelmotorer – ultralette luftfartøjer,motoriserede dragefly/glideskærme såvel som lidt tungere GA luftfartøjer- er godkendt til at operere med autobenzin (automotivegasoline (mogas)).
Disse godkendelser kan være begrænset til brugaf autobenzin, der ikke

indeholder alkoholer med lav molekylevægt (methanol eller ethanol). Læs mere.
